If you volunteer for a clinical research protocol, you will be examined closely throughout the study. In addition to physical and neurological examinations, the investigator (i.e., the doctor) will spend time with you, making simple but precise measurements and recording the information on special forms. Usually the information will be collected through a series of carefully designed questions, observations, or by the performance of simple motor or cognitive tasks.
