At Pacific Neuroscience Medical Group, we are committed to the health of all individuals
affected by neurological illness. We offer the latest in medical care for our patients,
including the option to participate in the discovery and testing of investigational
medications designed to improve their quality of life. All study-related procedures and
study drug are provided at no cost to volunteers. In addition, volunteers receive assistance
with travel and incidental expenses.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help us in our research in the following areas.
If you would like to be contacted when we have a clinical trial opportunity, please
call us
or complete the registration form at the bottom of this page. All replies are treated as protected
health information, and your information will be kept confidential.
- Parkinson’s disease
We are looking for volunteers with both early Parkinson’s disease and more advanced illness. We are particularly interested in persons who are not yet taking medication for Parkinson’s disease, or who are able to discontinue low doses of medication. We are also looking for volunteers who have been taking levodopa for at least two years, and who now have “on” and “off” periods. We are also looking for patients with Parkinson’s disease who have certain specific symptoms, including sialorrhea (excessive salivation), excessive daytime sleepiness, and orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure).
- Alzheimer’s disease
We are looking for volunteers who are on a stable dose of Alzheimer’s medication, or who have not yet begun Alzheimer’s medication, to help us study investigational medications that might improve symptoms or modify the course of the disease.

- Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a disorder of widespread pain and tenderness in the absence of other causes such as arthritis or connective tissue disease. We are looking for volunteers who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia or who believe they may have this condition.
- Diabetic neuropathy
We are looking for volunteers who have pain due to neuropathy caused by diabetes to help us study investigational medications we hope will reduce the severity of pain.
- Post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles)
We are looking for volunteers who have pain due to a past episode of zoster (shingles) to help us study investigational medications we hope will reduce the severity of pain.
- Epilepsy
We are looking for volunteers with various forms of epilepsy or seizures to help us test investigational medications we hope will reduce the frequency and severity of seizures.
- Multiple sclerosis
We are looking for volunteers with Multiple Sclerosis to help us test investigational medications we hope will reduce the number of exacerbations and the rate of progression of this illness.
- Restless legs syndrome
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition where the legs become restless, usually later in the day or at night, usually worse when sitting or lying down. We are looking for volunteers with RLS to help us test investigational medications we hope will reduce the symptoms of this disorder.
